Pop along to have a chat with Ali and his pupils at Mintlaw Academy and find out about the amazing projects they have running under the banner of “Mintlaw Subsea.”
With them will be the main ‘Mintlaw ROV’ and probably the newer ‘Mintlaw Nautilius’ which was started in August but still to be officially launched outside the school. It is a project being run in partnership with Global Underwater Hub and the Darcy Thomson Simulator at St Andrew University.
The other two projects are ‘Mintlaw Navigator’ and ‘Mintlaw Primary ROV.’
Each area has a project manager with a Mintlaw Subsea CEO overseeing all 4 areas.
Mintlaw Academy
Mintlaw Academy is a 6-year local authority comprehensive secondary school with a current roll of approximately 900 pupils. It serves the rural area of Central Buchan
The Mintlaw Academy badge is a Celtic Knot of Eternity taken from the artwork in the Book of Deer produced at the Celtic Abbey which existed close to the school. The endless nature of the knot can be taken to represent the lifelong process of education and the involvement of all of us in it.
