Some excellent programming

One of our P4-7 pupils used what he has learned in ICT to code his own computer game using the programming language Scratch.

I’m (Mr Webster) really proud of his initiative and eagerness to use the skills he has learned at school.

You can play his game by clicking here: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/151955983/#player

Even better you can use his game to create your own. All you need to do is:

  • Follow the link above
  • Click See Inside
  • If you don’t have one, sign up for a free Scratch account
  • Click the orange Remix button to edit the code and create your own masterpiece.

Make sure you share your creations in the comments!

THIS WEEK 16-20 January 2017

This week we tuned into the BBC 500 Words live lesson.

We learned things about writing a story, including setting, character and plot.

You can find out more about the 500 Words Competition here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p00rfvk1

In our assembly on Friday we were speaking about RESPECT and EFFORT and how to present our work.

Green Screen

One of our priorities at Logie Durno is to make best use of technology in order to improve learning and teaching.

As part of our work on the Victorian era P4-7 have been learning about the plight of children who were forced to work. Here is the class using a home made green screen to script and film news bulletins. In this way they were able to demonstrate what they had learned in an engaging and creative way.

In keeping with best practice guidelines we would respectfully ask you not to share our photographs on your own Facebook page or any other social media channels.
