This year at the Huntly Cricket Pitch eight Aberdeenshire schools competed in a cricket tournament. The schools that competed were Huntly, Drumblade, Clatt, Cairnie, Premney, Forgue, Portsoy but sadly Rhynie couldn’t make it. Each team played at least three games, each being played within five circles that fitted two teams with thirty minute breaks in between. Huntly got to the finals but lost to Drumblade by four runs. It was a great match and certainly a close one. It was a lovely day and everyone had lots of fun.“

Gordon Primary School now has a new football team so we will be blogging about it throughout the year. The coaches are Mister Allardice and Andy Murray (not the tennis player.) We are very exited about having this football team and it now has about 22 players. The football club is from 3:30 – 4:30 in the school field or in the large hall on a Thursday. The football age is P6 and P7. The squad says” We are hoping to win a lot of tournaments.” The squad is training hard. We are learning to dribble, pass, shoot, to have good sportsmanship and other important skills.

In the nursery they have been learning about the exciting project of Pirates. Up on their wall there are treasure maps they have made themselves. They soaked their maps in tea to give it a brown effect. The nursery pupils have been outside to scrub the decks like the pirates would have done. This Friday they will be going in the school woods to hunt about for treasure. Hopefully we will keep you up to date about how their treasure hunt went.
