Rememberance Day

On Sunday 8th of November the community of Huntly gathered together to remember the men that sacrificed themselves in all of the wars.

To get the Primary ones involved,  the primary sevens and ones walked to war memorial to find out more about it.  Mrs McIntosh had brought along some photos to show us about why and how the memorial was built.  She told us that they made the memorial in 1922 and finished in 1923.  Hundreds of people came to see it being revealed to the public.  Names sometimes still get added to it.  It was very interesting.  Everyone enjoyed it and showed respect.  Two of the Primary ones from Miss Gilchrist’s class laid some wreaths that they had made.  The whole school also did a two minute silence at 11:00 to show respect for all the soldiers who had fought.
