WW2 Day, part 2

Primary 7 had a fascinating day when Mr Robertson from Aberdeenshire Rural Studies came to visit.

They found out about how Aberdeen was affected during WW2. After watching a film clip and seeing photos of buildings in Aberdeen that had been bombed, they split into groups to find out more about aspects of life during WW2.

By looking at documents and artifacts from the war pupils found out about many aspects of life in Aberdeen during the war. These included Anderson Shelters, the role of women, gas attacks, rationing and school. Pupils enjoyed trying on the wardens helmets and looking at the ration books.

It was an extremely interesting day.
