Learning at Finzean School

We are very proud of Elliott, Sarah and Zara whose pictures went through to the final stages of the competition.
Huge congratulations to Sarah who won her age group and was the overall primary winner for Aberdeenshire.

This week we  practised the play, I am Scar. We also did some work on the earth like the mantle and the crust.

We also did a poem about things like a ping pong ball and that it could be a dragon egg.

This week we did a dress rehearsal on Thursday  and seeing all of the costumes was fun but I think my costume was one of the best. We have also just started a Topic about the Earths layers. There are four layers I have learnt so far.

This week we learnt about the layers of the earth. They are from inside to out: inner core, outer core, mantel and crust. We also did a school play dress rehersal.

This week I did BODMAS, here is a example of BODMAS 19+1 x 5 so you do the five times one first  then the answer plus  19= 24

We also did stuff about the centre of the earth.

I also  wrote this poem

   Noticing the Unseen 

It doesn’t have to be an old paper airplane.  

It could be a dragon heling tool. 

It doesn’t have to be a frosty snowman.  

It could be a strong bodyguard. 

It doesn’t have to be a tissue. 

It could be an endless piece of paper. 

It doesn’t have to be a beautiful bird.  

It could be a deadly flying animal.  

It doesn’t have to be a cheap rubber. 

It could be a time eraser. 

It doesn’t have to be a broken laptop.  

It could be able to control the world and make everyone do what the person who is controlling says.  

Just listen, notice and pay attention.

We have been practicing our show and the funniest person is Gangrene, aka Elliot.

My favourite part is when I get manhandled out of the way.

   This week I really liked doing our new topic which is the layers of the earth and we did this that has facts about the Inner Core, the Outer Core, the Mantle and the Crust. Also, in maths I did function machines, for an example, if you put four in and times it by four you would get sixteen.

This week in topic I learned about the Earths inner core, the outer core the mantle the crust.

For the play gangrene is  so so funny and  Captain Scary pants is so brave.

This week in my maths group we learned about BODMAS. We also learnt about the layers of the Earth.

We also did a poem called ‘It doesn’t have to be, it could…’

This week, I have done quite a lot about many topic’s such as Algebra and we have also started on a new topic, being Earth.

We have also been practicing our script for our upcoming school play about Pirates and Mermaids.

We have done a lot of writing and group projects as an example of our Meta-Skills
