{"id":293,"date":"2021-05-04T13:31:35","date_gmt":"2021-05-04T12:31:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/as\/fettercairnps\/?p=293"},"modified":"2021-05-04T13:31:35","modified_gmt":"2021-05-04T12:31:35","slug":"primary-4-5-welcome-back","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/as\/fettercairnps\/2021\/05\/04\/primary-4-5-welcome-back\/","title":{"rendered":"Primary 4\/5 &#8211; Welcome Back"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome back to Term 4!\u00a0 We have wasted no time getting back into our classroom routines.\u00a0 In literacy we have just finished a series of weekly debates around topical issues chosen by the children.\u00a0 The children have split into two teams and argued for an against the subject.\u00a0 I have been very impressed with the levels of maturity and respect that the children have shown when discussing different points of view.\u00a0 The children have also followed up this activity with a short essay giving the pros and cons of the argument.<\/p>\n<p>We also continue to read our class novel, \u2018The Elsewhere Emporium\u2019<\/p>\n<p>In maths we are revising fractions.\u00a0 Last week we looked at how to simplify fractions and this week we are looking at equivalent fractions.\u00a0 We will be moving on to adding fractions before looking and decimals and percentages.
