Introduction

Armed Forces children and young people often experience unique situations and challenges that their civilian counterparts may not such as high mobility, parental deployment, separation, and transitions between schools and communities across the four nations and overseas.

Interrupted learning can lead to disrupted social experiences, affect mental health and well-being, and positive learning experiences.

Education from early years through to Higher Education, can provide stability to help children and young people through these times.

Aberdeenshire Council proudly upholds the Armed Forces Covenant, demonstrating our commitment to support children and young people from Armed Forces families.  We recognise the challenges that come from military life and are dedicated to ensuring that these children and young people get the same opportunities to learn, grow and succeed as their peers.
