Cooking and Baking Ideas

Many of our pupils are posting pics of things they are cooking and baking, so we decided to put them all together in one place.

Scroll down and see if there’s anything you could make at home too.

Happy cooking!

Ernest’s birthday cake – The Delicious!

Step one : make four Victoria sponge cakes

Step two:  take one cake and cover it in jam, add another layer, cover it in icing, then repeat this pattern until the top layer has icing on (we used butter icing)

Step three:  cover in strawberries, chocolate buttons, Smarties, chocolate sprinkles, mini eggs, silver balls and sugar rice paper flowers.

Step four: tuck in!

Chloe’s Cookies

Eilidh’s Soda Bread

Top tips from Eilidh:

You don’t need bread flour for soda bread.

Buttermilk can be made by adding a little lemon juice to full fat milk.

We used honey instead of treacle.

The recipe can be found here.

(p.s I use this recipe too, it is very easy and makes lovely soda bread, Mrs Maclean)
