Here are some ideas for activities you might want to try, should we have a snow day. If you like, you can take photos of things that you have made or things you have done, and bring them in once we are back at school. If you want to share stories or poems, upload them to the class blog using the comment button. You can also use the comment button just to let me know what you’re up to in the snow. Have fun and stay safe!
Recycled Bird Feeder
Can you design and make a bird feeder out of recycled materials? Fill up your feeder with crumbs etc, hang it up in the garden and watch who comes to visit.
Try some winter ice art.
Find feathers, pine needles, branches etc, and place in a shallow dish. Cover with water and leave outside overnight. Tip out your artwork and display in your garden! If you want to hang up your art, place a small object in the container which is deeper than the water. (A cylindrical shape will leave a hole once removed from the ice.)
Can you create an artwork which shows the winter scene from your window?
Look carefully and add detail to your artwork. You could use pencil, black felt tip pen, chalk, collage – paper, tissue, buttons, sequins, tin foil, crayons
