autistic learners having access to high quality professional development opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/asn-aberdeenshire.org\/policies-and-guidance\/\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">A Professional Learning Framework for Education Staff<\/span><\/a> has been developed to ensure that there is an Aberdeenshire-wide core level of knowledge and understanding across the education workforce, as well as recognised pathways for developing more advanced knowledge and skills.\u00a0\u00a0It is based on The NHS Education for Scotland (NES) Autism Training Framework \u2018Optimising Outcomes\u2019 (2014) which sets out four levels of skill (informed, skilled, enhanced and expertise levels).\u00a0 These levels are based on the professional\u2019s frequency of contact with autistic people and their level of responsibility.\u00a0 Click\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/asn-aberdeenshire.org\/policies-and-guidance\/\">here<\/a>\u00a0to access the Professional Learning Framework.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Understanding and Supporting Autistic Learners: Universal Autism Training<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>As part of the Professional Learning framework, the Educational Psychology Service has worked collaboratively with partner agencies to develop an online training package, available for all staff working with autistic learners.\u00a0 This reflects a growing need for supporting the development of a whole school approach to meeting the needs of autistic children and young people.\u00a0 The aims for the course are to build individual practitioners confidence levels and knowledge base surrounding autism, as well as to help facilitate an establishment to develop a consistent whole school approach.<\/p>\n<div class=\"single-entry-content\">\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/aldo.aberdeenshire.gov.uk\/course\/view.php?id=1719\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Understanding and Supporting Autistic Learners: Universal Autism
