the more varied your life experience the easier it is to adapt and change.<\/li>\n<li>You become a more interesting person and will have more to talk about.<\/li>\n<li>You grow as a person and develop your knowledge base.<\/li>\n<li>You try new experiences and might find something you love to do.<\/li>\n<li>Learning can fight boredom and can be fun!<\/li>\n<li>Could help stave off dementia.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-1855\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/as\/public\/aberdeenshireeps\/uploads\/sites\/2304\/2020\/05\/26131229\/Computer.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"1200\" height=\"444\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Learning does not have to be academic nor does it have to take a long time &#8211; lots of free courses<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.myworldofwork.co.uk\/learn-and-train\/find-free-online-courses\">My World of Work: lots of free courses from the OU, Microsoft, Cisco and more<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.coursera.org\/learn\/the-science-of-well-being\">Yale University: the Science of Well-being course is now free<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.duolingo.com\/courses\">Duolingo: Learn a language\u00a0<\/a><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.llttfyp.com\/corona\/\">Living life to the Full &#8211; CBT bases courses free until June 30th 2020<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Learning and Reflection<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Learning can be challenging and can lead to feelings of self- doubt and vulnerability, especially in a time of crisis when we are all trying to pick things up very quickly.\u00a0 We are all exploring new ways of learning and teaching and as we adjust and try out new things we all make mistakes.\u00a0 We need to remember that the failures are just as important as the successes and we need to reflect on both to make progress.<\/p>\n<p>It is important, especially now to remember the growth mindset messages:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1875 alignleft\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/as\/public\/aberdeenshireeps\/uploads\/sites\/2304\/2020\/05\/26153827\/Enstein.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"323\" height=\"197\" \/><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1871 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/as\/public\/aberdeenshireeps\/uploads\/sites\/2304\/2020\/05\/26153248\/Mindset-message.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"204\" height=\"299\" \/><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>It is useful to make the time to have reflective conversations with colleagues and friends.\u00a0 Think about how things might work better but also reflect on what is working well and try to do more of it.<\/p>\n<p>Use Appreciative Inquiry or Strengths based questioning when reflecting with colleagues to promote learning can lead to more positive and helpful outcomes.\u00a0 This involves helping the other person to use their own resources, rather than giving advice or solutions.<\/p>\n<p>Questions to try might be:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What is working well?<\/li>\n<li>What have you tried already?\u00a0 What has been helpful?<\/li>\n<li>What small thing could you do that would make a difference?<\/li>\n<li>\u00a0What would other people who know you say you are doing well?<\/li>\n<li>What achievements have you made?\u00a0 How did you make them happen?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Remember learning can be fun and rewarding.\u00a0 Watch this video below and be inspired to learn something new.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"The first 20 hours -- how to learn anything | Josh Kaufman | TEDxCSU\" width=\"620\" height=\"349\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/5MgBikgcWnY?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
