Huntly Castle Junior Tour Guides

The P6 Tour Guides have started giving some Tours again.

They willn be passing their job over to the P5s soon. The P5s have been auditioned to see how good they are standing in front of a crowd of people and reciting something and now they are all going through training! Some Tour Guides have non-speaking parts which means they will act out what is being said in the script!

The script will be getting changed as parts of the Castle are getting done up!

Tree Planting 2013

Every class from p4 to p7 has been tree planting last week.We planted black thorn, hazelnut, wild cherry and pine and we did it in the meadows. We had to dig the whole with a fancy shovel and made sure the roots were covered and patted it down and then put a bit of wood what is called a stake beside it  and then put a tree guard around it. When we get older we will have fun watching them grow. I think every one had fun and so did I!

Gardening

Shane (P6b) had been in the Gardening Group for Hobbies. Ever since then he has enjoyed gardening a lot and  he is now the head gardener, working with Craig, Keiran, Thomas and Grant!  They are working very hard to look after all the flowers around Gordon Primary School!

They have been planting tulips and daffodils which have been placed around the school, in the entrance foyer and corridors. They have certainly given the school a bright cheerful feel.  They also planted some spinach!
