Playground Behaviour

Good playground behaviour
Over the last few weeks there has been a lot of things happening in both of the school playgrounds. Such as green mulch, bark around the trees, spongy ground, new playground toys ,  new plants, flowers, trees , This week the p1-3s playground got a new trim trail with new, fresh, nice, good quality bark (that smells good). There also has been EXCEPTIONALLY good behaviour .

When I got there I was surprised for happiness. I coloured in a picture for Betty and she got happy when she saw the picture. I played jenga with Amber and a lady called Jenny. Jenny was really, really happy and laughing. When I saw their faces they were very happy all of the time that I spent with them. I felt very happy spending time with them and playing games with them. It felt like the best day of school ever. – Joe

“Before I went to Ythanvale Care Home, I felt nervous because it was my first time so I didn’t really know anyone. I also felt excited because I was going to meet new people and it was going to be a different experience for us. I enjoyed colouring with Ashleigh and Sheila and I also liked playing jenga with Jean and Ena. I would love to go back again to the Ythanvale Care Home because I had so much fun and everyone that worked there was so nice and kind and the residents were also very nice and kind so I would love to go back.” – Amber

K’Nex Challenge

pppp

Our P6 and P7 pupils all had the opportunity to take part in a K’Nex Challenge.

The K’Nex workshops employ active learning to develop problem solving, communication, teamwork, planning and critical thinking skills. The pupils were all thoroughly engaged in the team activities and gave very positive feedback. Here are some of our P7 pupils working together.

Wishing Mrs Lindsay a Fond Farewell

q

Mrs. Lindsay came into school on the 19th of January for a farewell assembly with the whole school. The Primary seven pupils from Ms Paterson’s class sang two songs from her hometown of Athlone in Ireland and performed a dance. Athlone is described as being at the heart of Ireland and Mrs. Lindsay was most definitely at the heart of our school. Here we have the oldest girl in the school, Emily Stewart, and the youngest boy, Dean Gordon, who presented Mrs. Lindsay with her gifts and flowers. We wish Mrs. Lindsey good luck with her new post as Head Teacher at Newburgh Mathers.
