P5’s Scottish Poems

In our class we have been learning Scottish poems for Robbie Burns day. We all had a choice of four poems but in the end only three were used. The most popular one was probably The Traffic Jam by Sheena Blackhall:

Mrs. Emmerson’s Christmas Enterprise Event

For P6’s Enterprise event at Ellon Primary with Mrs Emmerson, we are making Jigsaw Wreaths and Rudolph made out of craft sticks. A couple of people from the class  phoned up the Craft Hoose personally to order the sticks. Each class was given £50 pounds to spend on equipment/ingredients, and was advised to spend it wisely! We are all very excited about the event coming up on the 20th of December. We hope to make more than what it cost to make the products.

Ellon Primary School Blog Progress

This blog is very much a work in progress. The website development group are leading this initiative.  They have met with Ms Rossvoll and also Mr Robertson from Education Scotland.  They are in the process of learning how to share their learning, achievements and contributions within school, the community and the wider world through the blog.  They have learned how to add a blog post and how to edit images using Picnik. This week they will learn to capture and share sound files.  The group will move on to develop their skills in taking video, editing, compressing and uploading to the blog.  Once the group has an awareness of these skills the school blog will go live.  The website development group will share their expertise with their class to enable them to contribute to the blog. We look forward to going live after Christmas.

House Captain Speech

Today we did our House Captain Speeches. I’m in Modley so before I started doing my speech I had to wait for the whole of Modley to come. I had so many butterflies in my stomach. I was so scared. In the middle of saying my speech I was shaking like mad. After I had said my speech it wasn’t that bad. I got quite a lot of votes. Finally it was finished and I could go back to class. Yipee. I will let you know how I get on.
