Our P6 and P7 pupils all had the opportunity to take part in a K’Nex Challenge.
The K’Nex workshops employ active learning to develop problem solving, communication, teamwork, planning and critical thinking skills. The pupils were all thoroughly engaged in the team activities and gave very positive feedback. Here are some of our P7 pupils working together.
For the first few weeks of this term, Primary 5 pupils were on a Christmas mission to raise as much money as they could for Cash for Kids. They took part in a sponsored read and organised guess the teddy’s birthday. They managed to raise an amazing £500! They then spent time researching toys, finding out the best places to buy the toys and working out what they could afford with the money. The classroom was filled with toys that will go to children who may not have received a present this Christmas. Well done to everyone in Primary 5.
Well done to all the pupils in P3J who organised a number of activities to raise money for Children in Need. Through holding a dress as you please day, bake sale, guessing games and by putting pennies on Pudsey we managed to raise £610! Pudsey has written a letter to P3J to highlight that every penny they have helped to raise will go towards projects that are making positive changes to the lives of disadvantaged children and to thank them for all of their hard work. Well done to Owen Black in P4 for correctly guessing the number of sweeties in the jar and Romi Campbell (P7) who won the teddy bear.

Last Saturday Ellon Primary School held a hugely successful Christmas Extravaganza to raise money for school funds. There were cakes, sweets, jewellery, hair accessories, chocolate and many more stalls for people to visit and purchase their Christmas presents. The P1, P2 , P2/3 and P3 also had fantastic enterprise stalls selling cakes, Christmas pudding lolly pops, Christmas decorations, present tags and food for the birds. Children and teachers came along to sell what they made. Any profit that the classes made will be spent by the class and the teachers and children can decide what to buy.
There was a cafe where you could have soup, biscuits, mince pies, coffee or tea. Mums and dads liked that.
The arts and craft room was really popular and lots of children made Christmas decorations and other things. In the crafty room you could also play a game and buya raffle.
For lots of children the highlight was a visit to Santas Grotto.
The day was a fantastic success and we all enjoyed it.
