{"id":54,"date":"2019-09-03T20:14:37","date_gmt":"2019-09-03T20:14:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/an\/newbiggingprimaryschool\/?page_id=54"},"modified":"2025-11-17T10:59:36","modified_gmt":"2025-11-17T10:59:36","slug":"parent-council","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/an\/newbiggingprimaryschool\/information-for-parents-2\/parent-council\/","title":{"rendered":"Parent Council"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Welcome to Newbigging Primary Parent Council<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>We have a very active parent council with lots of support from our parents and carers.<\/p>\n<p>The objective of our parent council is to represent the views of parents and to engage in, develop and support the education and welfare of the pupils.<\/p>\n<p>The role of our parent council is to create a welcoming school that is inclusive for all and to promote relationships between the school, pupils, parents, carers and the wider community.<\/p>\n<p>We meet each term to discuss what is happening in school and any other agenda items. Dates of this will be posted on class dojo.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our Committee:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Kathryn Foot &#8211; Chair<\/p>\n<p>Charis McConnell\u00a0 &#8211; Treasurer<\/p>\n<p>Julia Boyle &#8211; Secretary<\/p>\n<p><strong>Our aims:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>To benefit the school with our ideas, skills and knowledge.<\/li>\n<li>To decide what actions to take within our remit.<\/li>\n<li>To come to decisions everyone is happy with.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>These are the sort of things we get involved in:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fundraising at school events \u2013 raffles, fetes, bake sales.<\/li>\n<li>Steering the school vision for excellence.<\/li>\n<li>Point of contact for parents<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>These are the sort of things we have provided for the school: <\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>New playground equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Various trips and transportation.<\/li>\n<li>Medals for sports day.<\/li>\n<li>Outdoor learning equipement<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Welcome to Newbigging Primary Parent Council\u00a0 We have a very active parent council with lots of support from our parents and carers.
