Medieval Banquet

The P6’s have had a Medieval Banquet on the 29.03.17. They did it to finish off their topic on The Scottish Wars of Independence. They started off by making decorations. People were making: a hogs head, peacocks head, goblets, the Kings and Queens thrones, crowns, armour, knights, chandeliers, torches, princess hats (which they didn’t even wear at the banquet),a fireplace, a drawbridge, tapestries, a Ladyloan badge and swords. There were also 6 entertainers. The jesters, acrobats, dancers, singers, instruments and storytellers. Everyone had fun and they all took part in it. All of us also had a part in cooking food. We made oatcakes, yummy shortbread, pottage, fruit frumenty and easy cheese. There was a King, Queen, Prince, Princess, servants and important people. All of them got to dress up and taste all the foods that were there. Kindly, Miss Crichton gave us some jelly to eat too (Thank YouJ)! The P6’S really enjoyed the banquet and it will be their big memory.

P2 Visit to Verdant Works

P2P went to Verdant Works to find out all about life in Victorian times. All of the boys and girls said they lots of fun. Miss Paterson said that all of the girls and boys were on their best behaviour. They all felt happy because they played with Victorian toys. They liked the dummies that talked and the steam engines. They all dressed up in Victorian dressing up clothes. They liked sitting in the cinema. They liked being on the bus on the way to Verdant Works and they liked the food in the packed lunches.

P4F Reading Circles

We have been taking part in reading circles, they are really fun because you get to do reading with different people. We got to pick what books we read. We got a choice of things to do after we finished reading our book, these were the choices we got: to do a model, trailer, poster, drama, pictures and ICT.  These are some pictures of the posters.

Everyone enjoyed doing it. It was exciting to make the posters and read with your friends. We got to vote three books and our teacher put votes in a hat and pulled the names out to set our groups up.
