Primary sevens from all over the cluster gathered together for the Primary Engineering Awards at Arbroath High School to display their models and some were even given prizes for design and how well the wheels turned.
From our school, two exceptional pupils (Connor Ruxton and Brendan Brogan) won the ‘Apprentice’ award which was an award for the shoe box model without a motor. Many talented pupils went up to the high school but only a few could win.
Everyone at Ladyloan were very proud of Brendan and Connor and themselves, getting lots of praise back at school.

Open Jotter Event
On Tuesday 28th March the school was open for parents/carers to see their children’s work. Before they went off to the classes they were presented a PowerPoint by Katie, Ryan, Nicole, Joshua and Ellee. This presented twice and the times at 4:10pm and 5:00pm. The children put in a lot of hard work by staying behind after school and helping the parents know a little bit more about the declaration, presenting the PowerPoint and helping at the feedback station.
A few of the digital leaders were at the feedback station waiting for the parents to leave some comments. The parents were allowed to take a strip of paper and write their name on it and it would get added to the declaration.
There were two computers set up with the Ladyloan twitter page and the Ladyloan blog in case any parents wanted to have a look. Some parents left comments about the declaration and some about the twitter and blog.
We are hoping to have more parents/carers involved with our declaration.

On Monday 20th February P7 pupils from Ladyloan P.S & Timmergreens P.S visited Arbroath High School for a STEM Technology visit to familiarise themselves with the technology department and workshops. While at the high school the pupils made trebuchets. These were most commonly used in the Middle Ages in battle.
Mrs Grogan, the transition teacher introduced the pupils to some high school staff and prefects who helped the children build the trebuchets.
They used resources such as saws, hot glue guns, different pieces of woods and other materials.
Both classes were scared at first but soon understood what they had to do, work as a team!
At the end of the session they displayed the finished trebuchets and made it back to school by 3pm.
