The whole school enjoyed a performance from M & M Productions this week.  Everyone gathered in the hall nice and early to watch ‘A Twist in Time’.

The characters kept the audience captivated throughout the show and the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Arbroath Relay Event

Eight P6’s competed in a relay completion with other schools in Angus. Mrs McInally helped us to get better with our baton passing skills. Everybody got to race in different heats. There was a race between the P6 girls and boys to see who would compete, the girls chosen were, Amelie, Beth, Ellie and Daisy and the boys were Kyle F, Leo, Angus and Michael. The girls came 3rd and the boys came 5th. Everyone that was chosen was proud to represent our school.

STEM Celebration Event

Primary sevens from all over the cluster gathered together for the Primary Engineering Awards at Arbroath High School to display their models and some were even given prizes for design and how well the wheels turned.

From our school, two exceptional pupils (Connor Ruxton and Brendan Brogan)  won the ‘Apprentice’ award which was an award for the shoe box model without a motor.  Many talented pupils went up to the high school but only a few could win.

Everyone at Ladyloan were very proud of Brendan and Connor and themselves, getting lots of praise back at school.

Watters Cup..

Ladyloan Primary School beat St Thomas in a 4-3 victory of the quarter finals of the Watters Cup and made it to Gayfield.

They were celebrating like mad because they made it to the semi-finals. They met at Ladyloan at 5 o’clock Wednesday 3rd of May and walked with the team to Gayfield. They were talking about the game and they were a bit nervous. They got to the football park and went into the changing rooms. They were in a changing room with Inverbrothock Primary. They planned their formation and starting team. They went on to the pitch to get warmed up. The other teams that were there included Hayshead, Muirfield and Inverbrothock.

Ladyloan were playing Muifield and they were a tough team. The walk out song was the Baywatch theme song. They walked on to the pitch and saw their crazy teachers and their parents and supporters. The teachers had banners, ties around their heads and pom-poms!

The game was quite intense but Kyle Fraser took them ahead 1-0. Ladyloan were passing the ball around but Muirfield took the ball and their number 15 shot and it deflected off Ryan and the goal keeper Kieran missed it, 1-1.

They started from centre and they intercepted the ball and their number 15 scored again and it was 2-1 Muirfield. It was half time now and Jake came on for Kieran W in the number 10 spot so he was up field. They had the ball and Ryan had a shot but the keeper saved and the keeper kicked it up field and they were attacking. Muirfield took a free kick and it deflected off Jake and 3-1 Muirfield.

Michael came on for Josh and Jake went in defence and Michael went in the number 10 role. The final whistle blew, Muirfield had won. Ladyloan team shook hands with the opposition and they took a team photo. Muirfield went on to play against Hayshead in the finals. Hayshead won the game 3-0 and took home the Watters Cup!

It was a fantastic experience to play at Gayfield!
