The current Ladyloan Primary School was opened on the 7th of March 1974 to replace the old Victorian Ladyloan School which is still located next to Arbroath Football club.
Initially the ‘new’ school housed 13 classes and 420 pupils within the open plan layout. Over the years, changes to the school roll, layout and use have taken place and we now have a school which includes:
- A well-equipped school which currently accommodates 240 pupils in 11 classrooms
- Dedicated pre-school for 30 children per session.
- Purpose built Additional Support Needs Base
- A well-equipped sensory room
- Stimulating Library
- Grass and all weather playground
- Indoor Gym Hall
- On site ‘out of school’ care club
- A well-used Breakfast Club
- A wide variety of extra-curricular activities
- A ‘Walking Bus’ service
- An active Parent Council
