HAPPY HOLIDAYS!

Cosmic Homework

Primary 4s were set a challenge to design and create a Space themed model.  Miss Ferrie and Miss Christie were amazed at the creativity of all the models brought into school.  There were so many different ideas.  All pupils took part in the ‘Homework Showcase’ by asking and answering questions about their models and giving each other feedback.  A BIG thank you goes to all those parents who were part of the process! Have a look at some of the models and let us know what you think!

Medieval Banquet

The P6’s have had a Medieval Banquet on the 29.03.17. They did it to finish off their topic on The Scottish Wars of Independence. They started off by making decorations. People were making: a hogs head, peacocks head, goblets, the Kings and Queens thrones, crowns, armour, knights, chandeliers, torches, princess hats (which they didn’t even wear at the banquet),a fireplace, a drawbridge, tapestries, a Ladyloan badge and swords. There were also 6 entertainers. The jesters, acrobats, dancers, singers, instruments and storytellers. Everyone had fun and they all took part in it. All of us also had a part in cooking food. We made oatcakes, yummy shortbread, pottage, fruit frumenty and easy cheese. There was a King, Queen, Prince, Princess, servants and important people. All of them got to dress up and taste all the foods that were there. Kindly, Miss Crichton gave us some jelly to eat too (Thank YouJ)! The P6’S really enjoyed the banquet and it will be their big memory.

Open Jotter Evening

Open Jotter Event

On Tuesday 28th March the school was open for parents/carers to see their children’s work. Before they went off to the classes they were presented a PowerPoint by Katie, Ryan, Nicole, Joshua and Ellee. This presented twice and the times at 4:10pm and 5:00pm.  The children put in a lot of hard work by staying behind after school and helping the parents know a little bit more about the declaration, presenting the PowerPoint and helping at the feedback station.

A few of the digital leaders were at the feedback station waiting for the parents to leave some comments. The parents were allowed to take a strip of paper and write their name on it and it would get added to the declaration.

There were two computers set up with the Ladyloan twitter page and the Ladyloan blog in case  any parents wanted to have a look. Some parents left comments about the declaration and some about the twitter and blog.

We are hoping to have more parents/carers involved with our declaration.
