IMPORTANT SECURITY INFORMATION

Since many users will choose to access mail away from school, it is vital that any device being used to access Glow mail has some kind of security feature to ensure there is no unauthorised access.  You should be the only person able to use the device which must be protected with a password or code, Touch ID or Face ID.  Care should also be taken when reading emails in a public place to ensure that nobody else can see them.

When sending messages, it is essential that pupil names are not used in the subject line of any email.  It is acceptable to include details of children within the body of a message providing that adequate steps are taken to ensure they cannot be read by others as described above.

Glow passwords

It is vital that all users (staff and pupils) set secure passwords on their Glow accounts.  The recommendation we have been given is to set the password as four short, unrelated words, separated by spaces.  Users can change their password by clicking on their name at the top right-hand corner of the main launch pad and selecting Change password.

File visibility

One of the features of Office 365 is the ability to share files with other users.  This may result in files you have created being visible to other Glow users.  It is advisable to switch this feature off by selecting Delve from the app switcher (waffle) and clicking on Go to feature settings.  The side panel below should appear:

Ensure that this is set to Off and click on OK at the top of the screen
