Boyle<\/td>\n<\/tr>\n<\/tbody>\n<\/table>\n<h3 class=\"style 2\">Broad General Education S1-3<\/h3>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1462434304803_5882\" class=\"yiv9868383954MsoNoSpacing\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1462434304803_5881\">In S1 and S2 pupils have one period a week in Music.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1462434304803_5883\" class=\"yiv9868383954MsoNoSpacing\">\u00a0<b><i><u>S1<\/u><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1462434304803_5867\" class=\"yiv9868383954MsoNoSpacing\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1462434304803_5890\">There are four topics which all S1 pupils will experience during the first year at Forfar Academy.\u00a0 Each topic will allow pupils to perform music in a variety of styles, learn music related concepts and receive homework to compliment the units of work.\u00a0 These topics are: Introduction to Classroom Instruments, Rock n\u2019 Pop Charity Unit, Programme Music and History of Rock n\u2019 Pop.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1462434304803_5831\" class=\"yiv9868383954MsoNoSpacing\"><b><i><u>S2<\/u><\/i><\/b><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1462434304803_5892\" class=\"yiv9868383954MsoNoSpacing\"><span id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1462434304803_5891\">There are five topics in S2.\u00a0 These are: Introduction to Composition, History of Music, Skill Building, World Music and Instruments of the Orchestra.\u00a0 Just as in S1 all pupils will be given the opportunity to perform music in a variety of styles, learn music related concepts and receive homework to compliment the units of work.\u00a0 <\/span><\/p>\n<p id=\"yui_3_16_0_ym19_1_1462434304803_5894\" class=\"yiv9868383954MsoNoSpacing\"><b><i><u>S3<\/u><\/i><\/b><br \/>\nTo support greater personalisation and choice, S3 pupils will follow an elective based course structure and will select either one or two out of the three Expressive Arts subjects. Pupils will be in their chosen subject areas for 2 periods a week.
