This means we can make sure our rights are respected and that we promote and support the rights of others within our school and wider community.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>The ABCDE of Rights<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A &#8211; Rights are for ALL children. (UNIVERSAL)<\/p>\n<p>B &#8211; Rights are there at BIRTH. (INHERENT)<\/p>\n<p>C &#8211; Rights CANNOT be taken away. (INALIENABLE)<\/p>\n<p>D &#8211; Rights DO NOT have to be earned. (UNCONDITIONAL)<\/p>\n<p>E &#8211; All rights are EQUALLY important. (INDIVISIBLE)<\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Special Articles <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are four articles in the Convention that are seen as\u00a0<span data-usefontface=\"true\" data-contrast=\"none\">special. They have the rights!\u00a0\u200b<\/p>\n<p>In general terms,\u00a0all human beings are rights-holders\u00a0under the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.<\/p>\n<p>Duty Bearers &#8211; Adults such as parents, teachers and local government are Duty Bearers who help children and young people to enjoy their rights.<\/p>\n<p>Duty bearers have the responsibility to respect, protect, promote, and fulfil human rights of rights-holders.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Rights of the Month<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>As a school we have a Rights of the Month which links to our school values of Safe, Healthy, Achieving, Nurtured, Active, Respected, Responsible and Included.<\/p>\n<p>So far we have looked at:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Achieving \u2013 Articles 4, 18, 28 and 29<\/li>\n<li>Nurtured \u2013 Articles 4, 5, 18, 20, 21, 25 and 27<\/li>\n<li>Safe \u2013 Articles 11, 19, 22, 32 \u2013 38<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We have Rights\u2019 Ambassadors throughout P4 \u2013 P7.
