Entry Requirements:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Course Content:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n This course will introduce learners to the field of criminology, including its history and the role of the media in reporting crime. Learners will also explore different social issues in the UK, as many of these directly link to crime.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n The course will interest learners if they want to develop their knowledge of understanding criminal behaviour and crime. They may be interested in a career in police, law, social work, probation service, legal services or community work.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Please note, the nature of criminology is challenging and includes sensitive topics such as domestic violence and sexual abuse. Learners must consider the suitability of this course for them.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Assessment:<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n Internal<\/span><\/b>: Over the year learners will complete work which makes a portfolio of evidence. This will include a range of different assessments, for example written tests, posters, group work and presentations.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n External: <\/span><\/b>There is no exam in Criminology.
