The Course provides the opportunity for learners to acquire a deeper understanding of programming, database design, web design, and computer systems.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>Mandatory units<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Software Design and Development<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Database Design and development<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Computer Systems<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Web Design and Development<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The 4 mandatory units will be assessed during the year.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p><strong>Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Component 1 \u2013question paper<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The question paper will have two sections worth 110marks.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>Component 2 \u2013 Assignment<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>A two-week task, comprising of a database, program and software solution to be designed, created and tested by the learner. The learner will then communicate their findings in a written piece of work which they will complete during class time, under exam conditions.
