Business Management: Higher<\/h1>\r\n

Entry Requirements:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

  • N5 Business Management pass<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
  • Direct entry as Crash Higher for S6 only \u2013 individual cases considered by PT \u2013 H English pass A\/B in S5 preferred.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Course Content:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    Business plays an important role in society. We all rely on businesses to create wealth, prosperity, jobs and choices. The key purpose of this Course is to highlight the ways in which organisations operate and the steps they take to achieve their strategic goals. A main feature of this Course is the development of enterprising and employability skills. By developing many transferable skills, the Course prepares learners for everyday life, the world of work or further study of business and other business-related disciplines.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    The Course has 5 Units of work:<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    1. Understanding Business<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

    • Analyse the features, objectives and internal structures of large business organisations<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
    • Analyse the environment in which large organisations operate<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

      2. Management of People<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

        \r\n
      • Apply knowledge and understanding of how the management of people can meet the objectives of large organisations<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

        3. Management of Finance<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

          \r\n
        • Analyse how the management of finance contributes to the effectiveness of large organisations<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

          4. Management of Marketing<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

            \r\n
          • Apply knowledge and understanding of how the marketing function enhances the effectiveness of large organisations<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

            5. Management of Operations<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

            • Apply knowledge and understanding of how the operations function contributes to the success of large organisations<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

              Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n

              • 3 x Internal Assessments (one for each unit)<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
              • Course Assessment (Internal Assignment 30% and Exam Question Paper 70%)<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n
