They learn to recognise and distinguish level-specific music concepts, signs and symbols as they perform, create and listen to music.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>The course allows candidates to develop and consolidate practical skills in music and knowledge and understanding of music styles and concepts. It encourages them to self-reflect and explore their creative ideas.<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>Understanding music through listening enables pupils to build on and extend their knowledge and understanding of music and influences on music.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p id=\"h.p_9zxjHWzeC3GK\"><strong>Assessment:<\/strong><\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\r\n<li>You will be assessed through a performance (50%), a listening paper (35%) and a composition project (15%).<\/li>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<li>In your performance you will be assessed on two instruments. The duration of the performance is 12mins at Higher and 18mins at Advanced Higher.
