Part of our ethos at Auchterhouse Primary is that everyone has a contribution to make. We value the ideas and opinions our young people have and one of the ways we encourage this to be expressed is through our Leadership groups.
We have 4 groups in the school that meet regularly
Pupil Council – this group’s remit is dealing with issues and improvements to do with our school. Recent activities have included surveying the school prior to buy new playground equipment and identifying the need for more bins in the playground.
Eco – Council – this group was requested by a child and is now tasked with looking to improve how we reuse, reduce and recycle around our community. They have recently taken on responsibility for ensuring our recycling bins are used effectively. We are working towards our Green Eco flag.
Learning Council – the remit of this group is to develop and promote learning in Auchterhouse Primary. They are involved in our learning walkthroughs and in gathering evidence on what learning is happening in our classrooms, as well as creating resources such as our Auchterhouse Amazing Achievers characters and the Learning Pit
Community Champions – we understand that we are a small community in Auchterhouse, and we want our school to be a big part of that! Our Community Champions look for ways for the school to support our whole community. This may be through coffee mornings, games afternoons and other events to engage our whole community to be included within #TeamAuchterhouse
