For some teachers, enquiry may promote levels of critical reflection that are\u00a0&#8216;transformative&#8217;.\u201d<\/em> <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Practitioner enquiry is a &#8216;finding out&#8217; or an investigation undertaken within your own classroom or school and in collaboration with others.\u00a0 It It is one of the key elements in the GTCS Career Long Professional Learning Standards and is envisaged to become <strong>an integral aspect of the day to day practice of teachers and education professionals<\/strong>.\u00a0 Participating in Practitioner Enquiry enables you to <strong>bring about fundamental changes in pedagogy and curriculum and improve the quality of pupils\u2019 learning experiences.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>EPS have run several Practitioner Enquiry CLPL courses and have worked with teachers to undertake enquiry projects about mental health and wellbeing and learning and teaching.\u00a0 We have worked with teachers to address questions such as:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-79 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/an\/public\/anguseducationalpsychology\/uploads\/sites\/2385\/2020\/05\/27124041\/practitioner-questions-HWB.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"347\" height=\"260\" \/>We also work with each cohort of newly qualified teachers in Angus to help with their Reflective Research in Practice project.<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"text-decoration: underline\">Suggested resources<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gtcs.org.uk\/professional-update\/research-and-practitioner-enquiry\/practitioner-enquiry\/what-is-practitioner-enquiry.aspx\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">GTCS website<\/a> has an overview of Practitioner Enquiry<\/li>\n<li>Education Scotland&#8217;s &#8216;<a href=\"https:\/\/auth.education.gov.scot\/professional-learning\/self-directed-professional-learning\/enquiry-in-education\/\">Enquiry in Education<\/a>&#8216; takes you through the process of undertaking an Enquiry<\/li>\n<li>The <strong>top\u00a0resource available<\/strong> is your friendly neighbourhood educational psychologist!
