This is often done in collaboration with, or under the guidance of, professional scientists. It can be undertaken by one individual or by millions of people working together towards a common goal.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #333333;font-family: 'Century Gothic','sans-serif';font-size: 11pt\">Citizen science gives young people and their communities the chance to get hands-on with science in an exciting and meaningful way.
