{"id":700,"date":"2015-12-17T08:18:34","date_gmt":"2015-12-17T08:18:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/an\/anguschildrenandlearning\/?p=700"},"modified":"2015-12-17T08:18:34","modified_gmt":"2015-12-17T08:18:34","slug":"early-years-improvement-science","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.glowscotland.org.uk\/an\/anguschildrenandlearning\/2015\/12\/17\/early-years-improvement-science\/","title":{"rendered":"Early Years Improvement Science"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #0000ff\">posted by Eileen Jackson, Early Years Collaborative Programme Manager<br \/>\n<\/span><br \/>\nLots of learning has been taking place this week at the Improvement Academy, Ninewells Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Through the Early Years Collaborative 6 multi agency project teams have been taking part in the partnership facilitated Improvement Science Programme.<\/p>\n<p>Lots of hard work and commitment has been required however projects are now beginning to reap the rewards with good progress and\u00a0 a greater understanding of the improvement methodology and how this can support day to day service improvement across early years and beyond.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Projects which have been evolving includes: &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Play @ Home<\/li>\n<li>Bookbug<\/li>\n<li>Just Play Cooking Group<\/li>\n<li>600 hour Early learning and childcare \u2013 flexibility of delivery model<\/li>\n<li>Information sharing between health &amp; education<\/li>\n<li>Birth \u2013 3 years complex needs pathway<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>The Learning outcomes from this programme include: &#8211;\u00a0<\/strong><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Develop, test and implement an improvement idea through the application of improvement methodologies<\/li>\n<li>Develop a project charter to support the progression of quality improvement work<\/li>\n<li>Demonstrate knowledge, understanding and confidence in the use of key improvement tools and approaches<\/li>\n<li>Understand how the Plan, Do, Study, Act (PDSA) cycle can be used to test small scale changes in Early Years Services<\/li>\n<li>Understand the value of plotting data over time by creating and interpreting a run chart<\/li>\n<li>Understand how improvements can be sustained and spread<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The remaining session is scheduled for January and thereafter approaches will\u00a0 be considered as to how we\u00a0 capture and share the learning and sustain this approach.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>posted by Eileen Jackson, Early Years Collaborative Programme Manager Lots of learning has been taking place this week at the Improvement Academy, Ninewells Hospital.
