Now that we&#8217;re settling into the rhythm of regular meetings, I\u00a0hope that these updates will be more consistent.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">At every meeting, the first item on our agenda is to share successes and challenges. This week&#8217;s <strong>successes<\/strong> included:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>the visit of a group of teachers from Sweden, with the prospect of maintaining links;<\/li>\n<li>the leadership retreat for secondary headteachers at Ardoch;<\/li>\n<li>the Early Years Collaborative\/Raising Attainment for All learning session; and<\/li>\n<li>the first roadshow presentations on our statement of ambition and budget position (second roadshow &#8211; not such a success)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">Our <strong>challenges<\/strong>:<\/p>\n<ul style=\"text-align: justify\">\n<li>meeting the attainment challenge in the National Improvement Framework<\/li>\n<li>preparing for the arrival of Syrian refugees in Arbroath &#8211; we&#8217;re very pleased with the support from the voluntary sector who are offering support.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">The last time we met we had a creative conversation about how to tackle some of our current <strong>recruitment issues<\/strong>. We&#8217;d like to encourage you to share your ideas with us in the comments section &#8211; go on, be creative!<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify\">As part of our<strong> performance management agenda<\/strong>, we&#8217;ll be reviewing one of the priority themes from our Directorate Improvement Plan on a regular basis.
