Spring 2018 Exhibition<\/span><\/p>\n

Are Teenage Dreams So Hard to Beat? <\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Travelling Gallery\u2019s Spring 2018 exhibition, in partnership with the Museum of Childhood, Edinburgh, will explore our formative years as contemporary artists exhibit their work alongside teenage archives from yesteryears. In the age of the internet and Generation Z we will consider the contrasts of adolescence past and present as comparatively tame and nostalgic teenage magazines will be exhibited next to the never-ending click bate of internet culture.\u00a0 Our teenage dreams will be suspended as the exhibition investigates our prolonged adolescence and why \u2018teenage\u2019 no longer just refers to the period between the ages of 12 and 20? <\/span><\/p>\n

The exhibition will include work by contemporary artists alongside archive material from Museum of Childhood, Edinburgh and will tour from late February to June 2018.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Travelling Gallery was established in 1978 and continues to bring contemporary art to communities throughout Scotland. Its dual focus is to create highly engaging exhibitions and to provide a unique platform for arts education. Curated with the Travelling Gallery’s diverse audience in mind, the exhibitions display innovative artistic practices, representative of the international art scene. Travelling Gallery is a ‘not for profit’ organisation, regularly funded by Creative Scotland and supported by the City of Edinburgh Council.<\/span><\/p>\n

The cost for hire of the Travelling Gallery for one 5-day week will be \u00a3800 +VAT. The week could run either Mon \u2013 Fri or Tues \u2013 Sat.\u00a0 The TG will be able to travel to a different venue each day, which could be a school, community or public venue. <\/span><\/p>\n

Alternatively, depending on geography we can sometimes offer 1 day hires at a rate of \u00a3160 +VAT.<\/span><\/p>\n

At schools,<\/span> <\/span>pupils can visit the gallery in groups of up to 20 pupils for about 30 minutes at a time and Travelling Gallery staff will give a presentation to each group about the exhibition. A Learning Resource pack will also be available for teachers before the visit.<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n
