Connecting Scotland\u2019s Sounds :: Local Songs Workshops for Schools\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Offered by Local Voices on behalf of the National Library of Scotland, with funding\u00a0from the Esm\u00e9e Fairbairn Foundation.<\/p>\n

The National Library of Scotland co-ordinates the Scotland\u2019s Sounds network of organisations and\u00a0individuals with an interest in Scotland\u2019s archive sound recordings, as part of its national strategy to secure the country\u2019s audio heritage.<\/p>\n

A new initiative called \u201cConnecting Scotland\u2019s Sounds\u201d, supported by the Esm\u00e9e Fairbairn
\nFoundation, is seeking to creatively engage schools and communities in 2016\/17 with archive
\nrecordings of Scots song.<\/p>\n

The project aims to bring archival Scots song recordings alive for school pupils and their teachers,\u00a0and to share the highlights with wider audiences in the local community, , with particular focus on\u00a0the local town or area.
