Can you please see the attached programme of events and booking details for 16 Days of Action regarding gender based violence in Angus.<\/p>\n

Can you please share widely and support \/ encourage staff to attend. There is still space on all events.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances Angus Women\u2019s Aid have had to postpone their Domestic Abuse Conference which was due to take place on 2 December 2019 but this will be available in Spring 2020 and information will be shared in due course.<\/p>\n

AH Physics Project twilight<\/strong><\/p>\n

The first twilight meeting of the Physics network learning community has been arranged for Tuesday 26th November from 4 pm to 6.30 pm at Carnoustie High School on Advanced Higher Physics Projects.\u00a0 The session will explore suitable topics for AH topics and suggested experiments and provide a chance for all to discuss ideas and review project reports and ask questions.<\/p>\n

For each session myself and Stuart Farmer of the Institute of Physics will\u00a0facilitate\u00a0the initial discussion and then invite small groups of staff to collaboratively discuss these strategies, how they are currently used and if they could be improved, and if not used how they might be implemented.\u00a0 The groups will then feedback their discussions before we move onto to discuss the next idea\/strategy.\u00a0 \u00a0These discussions should then continue at\u00a0future meetings of the physics network learning community, at the Physics SNG and at your own schools allowing practitioners to reflect upon any changes to practice and the impact on your pupils.<\/p>\n

16 Days of Action – Events 2019<\/strong><\/p>\n

From 25 November, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, to 10 December, Human Rights Day, the\u00a016 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence Campaign<\/a>\u00a0is a time to galvanize action to end violence against women and girls around the world. The international campaign originated from the first Women’s Global Leadership Institute coordinated by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership in 1991.<\/p>\n

\nAsthma Training for Probationers<\/strong><\/p>\n

This training will take place on Thursday 30th<\/sup> May, Langlands PS, Forfar, 4.15-5.15pm<\/strong><\/p>\n

This 1\u00a0hour training\u00a0session is aimed to provide support in the management of the Asthmatic child or young person in the school setting.<\/p>\n

The training\u00a0 is delivered by NHS Tayside Respiratory Specialist Nurses and will include a presentation\u00a0, a \u00a0practical session on inhalers\u00a0and \u00a0interactive case study discussion with the aim of \u00a0to achieve the following\u00a0learning objectives\u00a0\u00a0:<\/p>\n

    Dundee University \u2018Learn to Teach\u2019 PGDE in Primary Education<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n

    Are you an Angus Council employee who is interested in training as a primary teacher?\u00a0 Do you have a degree, Higher English at grade C or above and National 5 or equivalent qualification in maths?\u00a0 The Dundee University \u2018Learn to Teach\u2019 PGDE programme could allow you to complete your post graduate qualification whilst still retaining your job with the council.\u00a0You would be released from your post for 18 weeks of school placements (subject to authorisation from your line manager).\u00a0\u00a0 The course is delivered through online lectures, summer school weeks and Saturday workshops, from August 2019 to December 2020.\u00a0 Participants would begin their induction year in an Angus primary school in August 2021.<\/p>\n

    Successful candidates would be required to apply to SAAS for funding.<\/p>\n
