We have been researching our own personal projects over the last few weeks. Everybody had a different person or boat from history to find out about. We put the information that we found out on our own Glow Page. We added web-parts like text editor, xml editor, picture library, discussion, survey. Some people even added a voki or a video.

what we learned
We learned how to measure angles with protractor. we also named different angles. An acute angle is less than 90 degrees, an obtuse angle is more than 90 degrees. A right angle is 90 degrees exactly. We had to walk round the school and find different angles. We learned the right point to put a protractor to measure the angle.

Podcasts
We have been learning about podcasts this week. We looked at tag lines, segments, interviews and thought of them for a podcast we are making. We have been imagining that we are on the dockside before The Discovery sets off for our podcasts. Talking to Captain Scott and Sir Clements Markham(that didn’t go on the expedision)and talking about how the Discovery was built. Hopfully we will post our podcasts to the Blog next week.

Watercolour Painting
The Art teacher was working with us on Friday and showed us some nice techniques for watercolour. We had to remember background, middleground and foreground. The background was lighter colours, using a colour wash. The foreground is supposed to be stronger colour – we did this later with paint when the background was dry. We are hoping to use these techniques to do some art work in the style of Shaun Tan. We will post some pictures up soon of these!
