A wee while ago, the Junior Road Safety Officers at our school ran a competition. Everyone in the school had to design a poster to encourage children to cross the road safely.
Today, at assembly, we had a lovely surprise when we found out that one of our Superstars had designed one of the winning posters!
All the posters will be displayed in and around the school. Super work, Superstar.

Here is the latest example of our creative spelling homework from this arty Superstar.
This week we were learning “ou” words, and one of this group’s words was “house.”
So here is a beautiful bird’s house …
.. and the lid lifts off and there are some eggs inside!!
We all agreed it was amazing.
We have had lot of Ancient Egyptian themed spelling as part of our creative challenge this month. The Superstars have been working really hard.
Spelling words around a mummy and words turned into hieroglyphics.

Here is a great spelling idea. As part of our spelling homework, this Superstar put all of her words onto cakes. Primary 2S know that cake is Mrs Stewart’s very favourite thing to eat, so she loved this idea!
We all got a piece of the cakes at snack time. They were delicious.
Today was the Superstar’s turn to do an assembly in front of the whole school.
We decided to do a drama presentation of one of the favourite books we have read in class – “Wolf’s Magnificent Master Plan” by Melanie Williamson.
The book tells the story of a wolf who needs some new teeth. He hatches a plan to hypnotise lambs into using their own wool to knit jumpers, and then he plans to sell them in his shop to get lots of money. With the money, the wolf plans to buy new teeth and ….
You will need to read the book to find out!! Needless to say, the lambs have a cunning plan too!!!
Most of us were lambs in the play so we made ourselves some lamb headbands earlier in the week.

Our wolf was magnificent!
We all worked really hard and did a brilliant job on the day.
A special thank you to all the mums and dads and grannies who did a wee bit of knitting and provided knitting needles and wool.

At the beginning of the week we presented our nativity play to parents and friends. The cast was made up of pupils from the Primary 1-3 classes.
Our nativity was followed by a concert of Christmas songs from the older children and the school choir.
We had an afternoon and an evening performance.
We all worked really hard to learn our words and songs and got lots of nice comments afterwards.
