Hayshead Primary Celebrates 60th Anniversary
We have just celebrated 60 years of education at Hayshead Primary in Arbroath. We had a week of celebrations and have decorated our school from head to toe. We had Darren Burnett visit us on Tuesday the 30th of September. He visited all classes taking about the commonwealth Games and winning his GOLD Medal. On Wednesday the 1st of October we had an open afternoon which went on until 6:30. We had lots of visitors who were shown round the school by our peer mediators and ended up in our community wing to look at displays, video and presentations of all things Hayshead. We had around 100 visitors enjoying our displays and teas and nibbles put on by our Parent Council and staff. On Thursday the 2nd of October we had a 60th sing along concert were each of our stages, including our Nursery, sung songs from the 1950s to the present day. Over 400 parents, carers and VIPs enjoyed our night of song.We ended our week of celebrations with two Harvest assemblies organised by our close friends, reverends Dolly and Stuart. We dressed down and up and donated over 400 items to local OAPs and Food Bank.
WE WILL POST OUR PHOTOS OF THE CELEBRATIONS SOON
A Busy New Year at Hayshead Primary-2013

Hayshead Primary School blog 2012-2013
Our school blog is starting again for the new session of 2012/13. we hope you follow us on our journey and feel free to comment so we can share our news with everyone in the school. We have already had a busy start to the year with both our A and B football teams starting their league campaigns with wins! Well done all involved. Six of our pupils have also been chosen to represent Angus in the Angus schools Football Squad. A fantastic achievement considering there are only 14 pupils in the team representing the whole of Angus.
P5 have started their weekly visits to Arbroath High School for swimming instruction and Zoe Milne has been singled out as a swimmer with natural talent and one to watch for the future.
P7s have been buddied with a P1 and have arranged and practiced a whole school assembly to welcome our new intake( pictures to follow)
