June 2014
Summer is well and truly in progress, with students finishing the last of their Nationals this week and end of term in only a few weeks. We’ve been busy here at SPTC with our membership renewals – if you’re interested to know what SPTC membership means for you why don’t you have a look at our leaflet?
SPTC Leaflets
We produce a wide variety of leaflets on topics that will interest all parents. You can download these directly from our website – SPTC members have access to the exclusive area on our website with even more resources available.
No Named Person Conference
SPTC and other opponents of the Named Person plan – which will see every child in Scotland having a state-appointed Named Person- held a conference in Edinburgh to discuss the implications of the plan and how it will affect families. You can read about the campaign on the official website.
Wood Commission on developing young workforce
The Commission for Developing Scotland’s Young Workforce, chaired by Sir Ian Wood, published its report outlining recommendations to cut youth employment. The report particularly highlighted the role that businesses play in supporting young people to develop the skills needed for future employment. You can read the full report here.
