This term we are using all of the skills we learned to help us read and understand the books we are reading in our groups. We are getting better at reading with expression, especially when someone in the story is speaking. We also use the punctuation in the story to help us read in an interesting and dramatic way.

We have been writing stories, learning about developing characters and settings. We really enjoy writing stories and we have lots of exciting and fun ideas. Later this term we will be learning about writing balanced arguments.

We cut through them to see all of the layers inside. We have also been learning about how volcanoes are made and we made our own volcano out of paper mache. We had great fun using bicarbonate of soda and vinegar to make our own eruptions!
