Enterprise research

This term we are taking part in an enterprise project like every year to make and sell something at the Christmas Fair.  We have thought of a few things that we can make or do, but decided on making ‘Snowman Soup’.  We had to discuss what we will need in order to make the final product and what is profit.  The children then had to start researching and comparing prices at different stores, so that we will be able to find our products the cheapest to make the most profit.

Bubble Painting

While reading the BFG, we’ve noticed that when Roald Dahl is describing the dream bottles, it sounds like it is filled with different kinds of colours, bubbling inside.  As an art project we used washing up liquid, water, straws and paint to blow bubbles to create a bubbly effect on paper to make our own dream bottles.  After it dried we wrote some acrostic poems on it.  The children loved blowing the coloured water and we almost had no mess!

Finding out which materials are soluble

The children have been learning about what soluble and insoluble means.  They have been experimenting with different kinds of materials to see what happens to it when it is placed into water.  Some of the results really surprised them!  Great investigating guys!
