We hope you enjoyed our Assembly this morning. The children worked so hard on it and performed it brilliantly!
Recording of performance and St Andrew story to follow……..
We have some tricky spelling words this week and have been practising them using magnetic letters.
We have made invitations for our Assembly on Friday 29th November. Please check your child’s book bag for the invitation. The children have been practising hard and can’t wait to share it with you!
Today we had a non-uniform day to raise money for Children In Need. We had fun in class using our colouring and cutting skills to make some lovely Pudsey Bears. We used split pins on the arms and legs to make them move!
In Maths we have been learning about 3D shapes. We have been exploring their properties including how many corners and sides they have. Today we made cuboids!
Today we learned about the different kinds of engineers- Chemical, Civil, Electrical and Mechanical. We discussed the kind of materials each would use and what they would make.
We also completed our next Engineering challenge which was to design a garden for Baby Bear. We had to think about the different materials we would use in each area of the garden, for example, grass, sand and concrete.
Here are some examples of our designs!
We completed out first activity today for Engineering week. Our challenge was to work in groups and build a den for Baby Bear. The children worked really well in their groups and came up with some fantastic designs!
Our next challenge is to design a garden for Baby Bear.
We have been busy designing and making some lovely Christmas gift tags. First the children drew Christmas themed designs for their gift tags, then they had a practise painting the design and finally they painted on the actual gift tag to make the final product. To paint the designs we used cotton buds and fingerprints. We will be selling the gift tags at the Christmas fair in December.
