World Book Day

Yesterday we had an amazing literacy day for World Book Day. The boys and girls came in as their favourite book characters and they all looked wonderful! In the morning we went on a book character hunt all around the school and playground. Then we had reading buddy time with P2. After break we heard a fantastic rendition on Room on the Broom by Mrs Brechin who was dressed up as the witch with all the props! Then we read and shared stories with each other. In the afternoon we had a whole school assembly and book parade. Congratulations to Aaron and Julia who won our best dressed!

Pancake Day :)

Yesterday we celebrated pancake day in P4! We learned why we call it pancake day, some fun facts and how it is celebrated around the world.

Happy Pancake Day!

For homework this week P4 should copy out their words 3 times followed by 3 sentences. To further develop our writing skills pupils should be encouraged to use “exciting openers”. This is where we try to get pupils to start their sentences in different ways and avoiding I, he, she or the.

For Example:

All of a sudden, the cat jumped out of no where.

For this week the spelling activity is Upper and Lower. Pupils are asked to copy out their words once in lower case and once in capitals.

For Example:
