Here are some photos of the class hard at work this morning making magic reindeer dust. There was some brilliant teamwork in each group and we managed to mix, bag and add labels. Elfie was really impressed! Our next job will be to think about how we can let people know that we are selling reindeer dust so that will be our challenge for tomorrow.

A Christmas Elf Comes to Class
Today we received an exciting delivery from the North Pole Express.
Inside we found this little Christmas elf on a secret mission. He has asked us to help him make magic reindeer dust to help Santa find all the homes in Aberdeen. The Christmas elf asked us to give him a name so we have called him Elfie.
We are going to make our magic reindeer dust bird friendly so we are not going to use glitter. Instead we turned sugar into magic crystals with some teamwork and a magic rhyme. Hopefully the magic will work overnight and we’ll be ready to start making magic reindeer dust tomorrow.
I think we’re going to have a lot of fun with Elfie in the class.

Spelling Pairs
Here are some of the children busy at work in their spelling pairs this week. Lots of valuable learning is going on here as the children are using their phonics to read and spell the words with their partner, whilst also developing their co-operative learning skills. It is lovely to see and hear the children supporting and encouraging each other with their learning in such a positive way!

Superheroes to the Rescue!!
The children thoroughly enjoyed our mini topic on Superheroes towards the end of last term and we have finally completed our wall display in the classroom. The children were very creative with their Superheroes and we had all sorts of characters from Arrow Man to Sparkle Girl!! Here is a sneak preview but you will be able to see the full display at our Open Afternoon on Wednesday 18th November 3pm – 4pm.
