7.1.19 – 16.1.19

I hope everyone has got back into the routine of being at school and work again and had an enjoyable first week back.

In P1M we launched into our mini topic about Scotland which we will be doing in the first three weeks of the term ending on Burns Day.

The boys and girls have been experienced lots of lovely activities to develop their prior knowledge of Scotland.  In art lessons with Mrs MacKinnon we have made collage kilts;

and ‘Highland Coo’ inspired by the Scottish artist Steven Brown.

During our music lessons on a Wednesday we have been listening to different Scottish instruments.

Learning clapping songs;

And we also learnt the Canadian Barn Dance!

With Mrs Moir we have been thinking about resolutions and have made our own New Years Resolutions;

We will make sure we try our best to keep them!

On Friday all of the boys and girls in P1 were lucky enough to hear a real Scottish piper!  The bagpipes were really loud but we really enjoyed listening to them.

As you can see the children have hit the ground running this term and we hope to continue with the enthusiasm and good work!
