Our new nursery friend!

We all made a new nursery friend today – a frog! We were absolutely delighted when Frank, the janitor, brought through a frog that he had found in the playground.  We all enjoyed watching the frog hop around and spoke in depth about its features.  Both the morning and afternoon children took care of it by carefully providing him with a pool and rocks.  Michael decided we needed some frog books  for the story corner and we also have toy frogs in the water tray.  We hope to share these stories in the next few days.

Exploring sounds

We used connecting pipes to make very large twisty tunnels in the garden today.  We experimented with putting water inside and were trying to work out how to make the water come out of the different pipes.  We found out that we needed to hold one end of the pipe up high to make the water flow.

We also experimented with shouting different sounds through the tubes and really enjoyed listening to the echo as our sounds moved through the pipes.  We might follow this up by making cup phones.

Morning teddy sleepover

The teddies have been very good and are now all tucked up in bed.  They had a lovely story with Mrs Ogilvie and they all enjoyed playing in the nursery.  Some of them went in the sand and water trays but luckily none of them went for swim! Some of the teddies made pictures at the drawing table and were very careful with the scissors.  They liked building models in the construction area too.

Tomorrow you will be able to collect your teddy.  They will be so happy to get a big cuddle from you!

On Friday you can play in some of the areas that your teddies played in.

We can’t wait to see you again tomorrow for the forest and we all loved meeting you today. Good night!

Mrs Duncan, Mrs Ogilvie, Miss Stephen, Mrs Gordon and Mrs Bartlett.  🙂

Nursery sleepover – afternoon teddies

The afternoon teddies were all very tired after their picnic.  They had fun playing with all of the toys in the nursery after you went home.  They especially liked playing in the sand and making cakes at the play dough table.  They drew lovely pictures at the drawing table.  Two teddies worked together in the construction and were very good at sharing.

Mrs Ogilvie read them a bedtime story and they all got tucked up into bed.  They cuddled all of their new friends and fell asleep.  They can’t wait to see you tomorrow after the forest.

We all loved meeting you and your families today and are very excited about having you at Cults Nursery.

Night night!

Mrs Ogilvie, Mrs Gordon, Mrs Bartlett, Miss Stephen and Mrs Duncan

Water, water everywhere!

We had a great first day back at nursery!  We were all desperate to get into the mud kitchen! We also enjoyed using the hose and experimented with pouring, splashing and filling.  We all needed to change into our welly boots  to do the splashing – please ensure your child has a pair of these left in the nursery welly box at all times.  Thank you!
