Nursery Term3




We are bringing in our favourite books to read. We have done a lot of work in our floorbooks which are on display in our cloakroom.



We have been doing counting rhymes and games. We have been learning about shapes. We went on a shape hunt round the school and outside.



This term we have worked on Chinese New Year – we made fans, lanterns and a huge dragon. We have been learning about dinosaurs –we made a dinosaur cave. We are currently doing some secret work for Mother’s Day!


Weekly reminders

Bring willies if it’s wet. Gym shoes should be named and kept in trays. Snack money is due every Monday. A helmet is needed for wheeled toys. Please do not bring toys from home to the nursery.

P1 Newsletter

Term 3

In term 3 our topic will be ‘The North Pole’ and we will be finding out about Arctic animals and the climate.   We will also be doing some investigations and experiments with water, ice and possibly snow!.


We will continue to learn our sounds and words and will be reading in groups.  The children will get wordwalls home each week and also information about the sounds will be sent home.  We will be learning to write stories more independently and will continue to read a variety of books which will come home with the children for you to read together.


We will be exploring number through workbooks, games, interactive whiteboard activities and mental maths. We will be working on addition and also subtraction within 10.

Please remember that homework diaries and reading books should be brought to school every day.
