In assembly this morning we were learning more about the right to an education. Volunteers selected images to display and everyone voted on whether the children were at school or not. Revising from last week the aspects of what children achieve when they attend school, we related this to the images of children who were not at school and briefly discussed what they are missing out on. We will continue to learn about this next week too.
At the end of assembly we had a team from P4 and P5 to raise awareness of the dangers of plastic and pollution on our beaches. Each class will watch a video clip and compete a quiz as a result of this presentation.
This is another great right to highlight Miss McKay…… it will hopefully encourage the children to value their education when they see what others around the world don’t have…although I suspect there might be a bit of “ there lucky they don’t have to go to school and we do thoughts!!! Lol..
I liked the raising awareness of recycling discussion as it is something we talk about at home and try to do at every opportunity. You may have seen “The Plastic Whale” documentary but if not give it a view. it is astonishing, frightening and so so sad what we as a society throw away that ends up inside such a beautiful harmless sea creature not to mention the damage to other sea life the ocean and the environment…. ok rant over!!!!😉😂
